Everything starts small

Dear Readers

You may have already noticed: Just in time for the new year, the look and feel of Modellflugsport is undergoing some design changes.

But the content remains just as important, and we have some news there as well. In my view, the most significant change is the new section: YOUTH - JEUNESSE.

In this section, we aim to publish articles by and featuring young people from all over Switzerland. Through these reports, we hope to share the experiences young people have in our hobby and thereby inspire more young people to take up model flying. We hope to receive contributions to this section from all parts of the country.

In the cover story of this issue, we take a closer look at the work of Andreas Locher. Andreas is a gifted cartoonist, but also a model aviator. With his wit, he creates very funny model airplanes that bring a smile to our faces as soon as we take a closer look. Something very close to my heart is that we once again receive more contributions from French-speaking Switzerland. However, we rely on the cooperation of active clubs to bridge the “Röstigraben” and report on their activities. I wish you all a successful 2026 model flying season with many positive experiences across all parts of Switzerland that we can report on.
