IGG 2018 Lowland Flying Competition in Burgdorf
In excellent weather, the pilots made their way to Burgdorf on the weekend of June 9–10, where the IGG Switzerland lowland flying event took place. After the briefing on Saturday morning, the power-tow team sprang into action and safely brought the gliders up to the desired altitude.
The air traffic controllers did their job perfectly, and we had no incidents to report through Sunday evening. However, there were always a few pilots who wanted to save five francs and therefore attempted to land off the runway. Rumor had it that one pilot even had to skip flying on Sunday because he ran out of money... ☺ On Saturday evening, the kitchen team treated us to a sensational meal. It was like dining at a restaurant—only much better. The same went for the food on Sunday. A fantastic lowland flying event organized by IGG Switzerland, which we look back on with great pleasure. On behalf of IGG Switzerland, I’d like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the “Burgdörflern” for this wonderful weekend.
