F5J – The Thermal Hunters in Hinwil

It’s wonderful to watch a mass launch in the new, exciting category of F5J thermal gliders! This new FAI class has been a huge success from the very beginning. Open FAI World Cup competitions already have over a hundred participants, and organizers are beginning to impose restrictions. This year, separate Swiss Junior and Senior Championships were once again held. The event was hosted by MG Hinwil, whose airfield is ideally suited for F5J. Many colleagues from the “string-launched, throw-launched, and slope-flying disciplines” have discovered a new sporting challenge in this new electric flight class.
