Welcoming address from the Central President of the Swiss Aero Club

Dear competitors from all over the world, Dear aeromodelling enthusiasts

As the umbrella body, the Swiss Aero Club has overall authority for all aviation sport disciplines in our country. Supporting and encouraging aviation sport in Switzerland is a matter of great importance of us. In this respect, national and international competitions play an especially important role.

The environment has become more complex and aviation sport – both in central Europe and Switzerland – is in an increasingly difficult state. It is therefore of the utmost importance that we make the public even more aware of our fascinating sport. The aeromodelling world championships provide an outstanding platform for this.

Competitions in aviation sport disciplines pose exceptional challenges. In addition to the sporting and technical activities, the training of endurance, discipline and concentration, the aspects of the third dimension and the weather have to be mastered. A challenging and demanding task for competitors and organisers. This is also particularly true in the F3B aeromodelling disciplines.

It gives me particular pleasure that these aeromodelling world championships can be held in Switzerland. I would like to thank the Aeromodelling Federation and the organising committee for their great involvement, congratulate the competitors on their healthy sporting ambition and wish you all luck, satisfaction and success in the «F3B» world championships in Switzerland.
