After hosting the indoor competition three times at the JU Hall in Dübendorf, the NOS region moved the event to a sports hall in Pfäffikon—in part for cost reasons.

This is already the second Aeromusicals event

While the results of last year’s Aeromusicals event were intended primarily to serve as a selection process for participation in the FAI World Air Games, this time the first Swiss Championships were on the agenda. Nevertheless, the experience with the still very new FAI “F6 Airsports Promotion Classes” has not yet been overwhelming for organizers and participants. Added to this are the very frequent rule changes. Through several judge briefings for F5A Freestyle, F6A Artistic Aerobatics, and F6B Aeromusicals, a number of F3A and F5A judges have already been prepared for the difficult task of judging freestyle shows. At these Swiss Championships as well, the judges felt comfortable in their roles and spontaneously volunteered for further assignments of a similar nature. Unfortunately, given that the indoor season is still in its early stages and due to various last-minute cancellations, competition director Emil Giezendanner was ultimately only able to welcome five participants to the starting line. Despite a widespread lack of training, some truly fantastic shows were put on. It’s a shame that the helicopter scene was almost entirely absent this time. The frontrunner, Andy Haller, suffered a hard landing in the final, which ultimately still earned him the bronze medal. But please don’t forget: in the F6 classes, the show comes before the ranking. remo
