In the spring of 2006, GAM Geneva had the privilege of organizing a gathering of enthusiasts of flying machines used in various armed conflicts from 1914 to the present day.

Every year

This friendly gathering, known as WARBIRD'S Tattoo, takes place every year at one of three clubs in French-speaking Switzerland: GAM Sierre, GAM Bex-Aigle, or GAM Geneva.

These two days of aviation festivities showcased the dedication of these modelers, who choose—based on their passion—the era they will represent through their scale models.

Airplanes from 1914 to the Present

At the Athénaz airfield, for example, we find the famous Fokker Triplane flown by the "Red Baron" during World War I, but also the

The 1939–45 period, the most widely represented category, featuring a majority of aircraft from the various belligerent nations. England with the Spitfire, the U.S. with the Chance Vought—better known as the F4U Corsair—the Grumman F8F Bearcat, the AT-6 Texan, the P-51D Mustang, the P-47 Thunderbolt; Japan with the Zero; and Germany with the Stuka and the Messerschmitt Bf 109.

Then we move on to our own era, less focused on “Warbirds,” featuring fighters equipped with miniature jet engines such as the F-86 Super Sabre and the Dassault Rafale, whose speed approaches 300 km/h.

These two days gave all these passionate and experienced modelers the chance to get together and share their experiences over excellent meals masterfully prepared by the renowned kitchen team at GAM Geneva.

Be sure to join us for the next edition—and now, on to the photos!
