Here, a model is being prepared for its maiden flight.

The model aviation regions BOW, NOS, and NWS organize RC aerobatics competitions with separate scoring categories for junior girls and boys. The NOS model aviation region offers its junior members training opportunities in RC aerobatics.

Flight instructors Mathias “This” Bosshard and Moritz Hänsli supported the young pilots with valuable tips.

This ranges from preparing a model airplane to debriefing after a training flight. Training focuses primarily on the “Basic” program. For advanced pilots, more complex maneuvers are also practiced; for example, the boys are already trying their hand at a roll circle, etc.

In addition to the actual training, the students also receive help programming their remote controls, with the goal of ensuring that an aerobatic model flies smoothly and precisely. This also demonstrates several maneuvers with his model while explaining them and pointing out the criteria for each maneuver.

Nothing escapes his notice; with his approach, he helps the young NOS pilots improve.

This type of training is an excellent way to pass on knowledge and skills. On September 4 at the MG Breitenbach NWS, on September 25 at the MG Riggisberg BOW, and on October 2 at the MG Uster NOS, these talented young drivers will showcase their skills. ■
